WSJ: Insurance Deductibles Soar

Over the weekend, The Wall Street Journal published an article related to your homeowners insurance “Insurance Deductibles Soar.”. This article talks about better understanding your coverages and deductibles, especially the wind/hail deductible and how both auto and homeowners deductibles have been climbing in recent years.

The article also discusses the importance of reviewing your policy every three years, making sure you have enough coverage to cover costs in today’s market. They recommend playing the “what if” with your agent (what if a tree falls on my home, what if a pipe bursts). The other thing it discusses is putting in your claims wisely – one large claim will affect you less than multiple small ones.
