Alleged False Posts On Social Media – Am I covered?

Oh No!Is my allegedly false Tweet or Facebook post covered by my Homeowners Policy?Maybe…  While there are many factors that help determine whether or not coverage applies to any claim, you need to have the coverage to even ask for the details.  In short – a “plain” Homeowners policy will not cover you (or your kids) for Libel, slander and defamation of character – they are defined as “personal injury” in the insurance world. Unendorsed homeowners’ policies do not provide “personal injury” coverage; it’s not excluded, coverage is just not granted.  Coverage for Personal Injury can be purchased for about $20, and it is automatically covered under most all Personal Umbrella policies.  Watch what you say online … it’s there forever!  See for the rest of the story …
